Plot Against Hunger program collects fresh produce from gardens at homes, faith-based organizations, schools, and community gardens, and gleans produce at local farms to donate to local food pantries for our neighbors in need of supplemental groceries. Our Produce Bagging Center accepts your garden produce, prepares it for food pantry clients, and delivers the same day. Plot Against Hunger cultivates a community of gardeners, supporting gardeners with seeds and seedlings and technical assistance. Every March, the growing season starts with the Spring Garden Kickoff where gardeners can meet each other and learn new skills.

Donate your garden produce to the Plot Against Hunger Produce Bagging Center at Rock Spring Church, 5010 Little Falls Road in Arlington. We welcome all amounts, starting with those extra vegetables you won’t use. Opening day is May 15, 2023 and regular days will be Mondays May through July from 1-3 pm and Mondays and Thursdays August through October, 1-3 pm (or Tuesday if Monday is a holiday), or find a pantry using our link below that fits your location and timing.

Start a Garden for Plot Against Hunger where you see growing space – schools, libraries, faith-based institutions, and other organizations and businesses have potential space and we will help guide you.

Gleaning
Come gleaning with Plot Against Hunger this season!
We glean at local farms to pick produce and deliver it back to Arlington area feeding programs. We are currently scheduled to journey out on Tuesdays through September, 2023. After that, our fall schedule will change. Sign in to see current dates. If you haven't already, sign up to volunteer and indicate that you would like to glean.
Donate Garden Produce
Plot Against Hunger Produce Bagging Center is located at Rock Spring Church, 5010 Little Falls Road, Arlington. It is open Mondays and Thursdays from 1-3 pm from August to October. (If Monday is a holiday, bagging Center is open Tuesday.) Gardeners can drop off their fresh produce to be bagged and donated to local food pantries.

Seedlings
Plot Against Hunger Program is coordinating an exchange of seedlings between seedling growers and PLOT gardens that need seedlings. This year we are limiting types of seedlings to cool season crops (collards, kale, chard) and nightshades (tomatoes, peppers). The first exchange of cool season crop seedlings will take place in mid-late March; the second exchange will take place around the first week of May. Pick up locations and times/days TBD.
Seeds
Arlington Virginia Cooperative Extension and Plot Against Hunger distribute donated seeds to Plot gardens, community gardens, and other gardeners in the spring. Email plotagainsthunger@arlingtonurbanag.org if you need seeds. We still have a limited supply.
